Precinct cards will be mailed to county voters after recent changes to polling places

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -– Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections will be mailing precinct
cards to all of the county’s approximately 172,000 registered voters following recent changes to district
lines, precincts and polling places.
“We are sending precinct cards out to every registered county voter (registered as of March 25, 2022)
because all Forsyth County voters are impacted by changes to district lines and many voters are
impacted by recently-approved precinct and polling place changes,” said Director of Voter Registrations
& Elections Mandi Smith. “The precinct card serves as a voter’s official notification about all of the
changes that affect them.”

The changes to where a voter will cast their ballot will be in effect for the May 24 General Primary and
Nonpartisan General Election.
The card, which looks like a postcard, contains information about a voter’s assigned Election Day polling
place once opened. Voters are encouraged to open their precinct card upon receipt, review their
information and familiarize themselves with precinct, polling place and district changes.
The Change of Address portion of the card only needs to be returned if the voter’s registration
information needs to be updated. Voters do not need to present their precinct card to vote; it is for the
voter’s reference only.
Precinct cards are also mailed out routinely to residents who register to vote and voters who update

Poll workers needed for ’22 election cycle

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office is seeking poll workers for the 2022 election cycle and will be hosting informational meet and greet sessions for interested residents in March.
Various morning, afternoon and evening sessions will be held March 7-11 at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Dr.) for residents wishing to gain more information on becoming a poll worker.
Frequently asked questions including poll worker requirements, duties of a poll worker, volunteer versus paid opportunities and more can be found at www.forsythco.com/pollworkers. “Poll workers play an essential role in enabling citizens to participate in one of our nation’s most cherished freedoms,” said Voter Registrations & Elections Director Mandi Smith. “We are truly grateful for the residents of all backgrounds and ages who serve our community as poll workers.”

- Tuesday, March 8 10 – 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 – 7 p.m.

The Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office is seeking poll workers for the 2022 election cycle. Meet and greet sessions for potential poll workers will be held at the following times at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Office (1201 Sawnee Dr.):

Voters turn out in near-record numbers as advanced voting begins

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Approximately 9,000 voters — some waiting as long as two hours to cast their ballot — flocked to Forsyth County’s seven voting locations on the first two days of advanced voting in the 2020 Presidential Election.
“We heard on the news that it was a record-breaking day for the state,” Director of Voter Registration and Elections Mandi Smith said. “I haven’t checked for us specifically, but I believe it was for us as well.”
5,320 votes were cast on the first day, compared to the 3,500 votes on the first day of advanced voting in the 2016 presidential election,” Smith added. By midday on Tuesday, more than 3,000 votes were added.
“Overall thing went really welll,” she said. “When you have that many people come through, there are going to be lines. But the lines moved well. I don’t think anyone had more than a two-hour wait and that was at the peak. Most waited 30-45 minutes. The longest wait was at Sharon Springs Park.”
