A facebook post indicated several citizens have received calls from someone claiming to be a deputy demanding money for missing jury duty. The caller instructed the person receiving the call to place the money in a drop box at the jail.

The post also states the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office FCSO will call and demand money. If you receive a call like this, write down the name used, phone number and any other details and hang up. Report the incident to law enforcement.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office issued the following scam alert Friday:

“FCSO is currently receiving calls from citizens, regarding Sgt. Gary Clark with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office calling them and insisting they pay a fine or risk being arrested. The phone number they are calling from appears to be our South Precinct, however, it is not. This is a SCAM! We assure you our Sgt. Clark is not collecting fines. Again, we will NEVER call you asking for MONEY for a fine, jury duty, or any other reason. Hang up the phone! #ScamAlert #StaySafeForsyth
