FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Board of Commissioners will meet in a work session Tuesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 110 E. Main Street in Cumming to consider the following agenda items:
- Amendments to the Unified Development Code related to the Coal Mountain Overlay within Chapter 21, to include amendments that would incorporate the Coal Mountain Town Center design standards into the existing Overlay;
- A County-Initiated rezoning from Agricultural District (A1), Single Family Residential District (Res3), Multifamily Residential District (Res6), and Commercial Business District (CBD) to Master Planned District (MPD) or Mixed-Use Center District (MCD) for Parcels 216-037, 216-043, 216-045, 216-035, 216-095, 216-063, 216-031, 216-032, 216-030, 216-256, and 216-051;
- Amendment to the 2021 Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification with authorization for the Chairman to sign;
- A policy regarding Non-Discrimination on The Basis Of Disability with approval of a Resolution regarding Non-Discrimination on The Basis Of Disability and Repealing Prior Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan Policies;
- A list of items as surplus with authorization for the Department of Procurement to dispose of accordingly;
- Approval to enter into an Agreement with LexisNexis Risk Solutions to provide online access for services to research criminal investigations, pre-employee background checks, and internal investigations. Staff Recommendation: approve to enter into the Agreement in the amount of $5,200;
- (7) Board consideration and approval to purchase ten (10) Stertil-Koni Earthlift Mobile Lifts with the trade-in of ten (10) existing Stertil-Koni Columns as a Sole Source Purchase through Stertil-Koni USA, Inc. at a cost of $125,938.40;
- Approval to provide all labor, materials, and equipment for a 2022 26-ft. Mobile Adoption and Veterinary Unit from LaBoit Vehicles, Inc. in the amount of $323,116.00;
- A Professional Services Agreement with Oakbridge Insurance Agency, LLC for Healthcare Consulting Services in the not to exceed amount of $120,000;
- The award of Bid 22-006-1620 to Crown Service Contractors to provide all labor, materials, and equipment for the renovation of approximately 800 sq. ft. of interior space in Suite 150 located in the Administration Building for the Department of Water and Sewer in the amount of $94,552;
- Approval to award Bid 22-022-1620 for Rooftop Unit Replacements on the Central Park Recreation Center for the Department of Public Facilities to Blue Mountain Mechanical in the amount of $53,120;
- Approval to award Bid 22-016-5211 for the replacement of two (2) Artificial Turf Felds located at Sawnee Mountain Park and Sharon Springs Park for the Department of Parks and Recreation to Sprinturf, LLC in the amount of $540,540;
- Approval to award Bid 22-27-5211 for the Resurfacing of Tennis Courts located at Central Park Fowler Park for the Department of Parks and Recreation. Staff Recommendation: award to Signature Tennis Courts in the amount of $98,948;
- Approval to award Bid 22-012-3150 to provide all materials, equipment, and labor to construct the Post Road at Bentley Road Signal to PowerComm USA, LLC in the amount of $109,481.26;
- Approval to award Bid 22-001-3340 for construction of new Water Transmission Mains at Keith Bridge Road and Hurt Bridge Road to Unity Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of $14,764,115;
- Approval of a Contract Item Agreement between the Georgia Department of Transportation and Forsyth County regarding reimbursement of $4,628,090 for Waterline and Sanitary Sewer Relocation on State Route 9 from McFarland Road to Post Road due to road widening;
- Ratification of an emergency purchase of one (1) Ford F-550 4×4 Crew Cab for the Department of Water and Sewer from Jim Ellis Ford in the amount of $79,982;
- Approval of Task Order 28 with CH2M Hill, Inc. in the not to exceed amount of $456,224.50 for County Water Intake Road Improvements;
- A Task Order with TerraMark Land Surveys for a Property and Topographic Survey for boundary lines to be identified with 42-acres of property for the Matt Park Recreation Center in the amount of $53,400;
- Approval of a Task Order with United Consulting to provide Geotechnical Engineering Services required for the development of the new Administration Campus on Freedom Parkway (includes Administration, Employee Center, and Whole Health buildings) in the amount of $71,214;
- Amendments to the Unified Development Code related to Site Development Permit Exemptions within Chapter 7;
- Modification(s) to the Forsyth County Sign Ordinance and Unified Development Code regarding Electronic Message Boards for certain commercial purposes;
- A Resolution authorizing the County Manager and the County Attorney to dispose of property;
- A Proclamation declaring April 10, 2022 through April 16, 2022 as Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week in Forsyth County;
- A Proclamation declaring April 10, 2022 through April 16, 2022 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Forsyth County;
- An amended Resolution to condemn property interest in Tax Parcel 044-011 (Parcel #23 of the McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project (PI #0004634); Owners: Solvay Specialty Polymers USA, L.L.C.) with authorization for the Chair to execute documents in furtherance of same; estimated just and adequate compensation to be determined;
- An amended Resolution to condemn property interest in Tax Parcel 066-043 (Parcel #27 of the McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project (PI #0004634); Owners: BCI Bluegrass DC, LLC) with authorization for the Chair to execute documents in furtherance of same; estimated just and adequate compensation to be determined;
- An amended Resolution to condemn property interest in Tax Parcel 067 005 (Parcel #72 of the McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project (PI #0004634); Owners: National Retail Properties, LP) with authorization for the Chair to execute documents in furtherance of same; estimated just and adequate compensation to be determined;
- An amended Resolution to condemn property interest in Tax Parcel 090-262 (Parcel #82 of the McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project (PI #0004634); Owners: W.D.Clark, LLC) with authorization for the Chair to execute documents in furtherance of same; estimated just and adequate compensation to be determined;
- An amended Resolution to condemn property interest in Tax Parcel 090-021 (Parcel #114 of the McGinnis Ferry Road Widening Project (PI #0004634); Owners: Mark Allen Pierce) with authorization for the Chair to execute documents in furtherance of same; estimated just and adequate compensation to be determined.
VIII. Open Session following Executive Session
- Final Consent Order between Publix and Forsyth County with regard to the condemnation of SR 369 – Parcel 69 – County Attorney.
