FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – An 85-year-old Forsyth County man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of his 81-year-old wife following a reported domestic violence incident Sunday night.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Collins Point Road near Lake Lanier at approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident.
Upon arrival, deputies found 81-year-old Deborah Field suffering from multiple injuries. Despite efforts at the scene, Field died from her injuries.
Investigators identified her husband, 85-year-old Thomas Elliott Field, as the suspect.
Following the investigation, detectives charged Field with aggravated assault and felony murder, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities said the incident is believed to have been isolated to the residence and that there is no known threat to the general public.
