PRESS RELEASE

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — During their Aug. 5 meeting, the Board of Commissioners recognized Omkar Tamhane, a rising junior at Lambert High School and Eagle Scout, for completing all 137 merit badges through the Boy Scouts of America. Less than 500 scouts in history have achieved the honor. Attached, please find a photo of Tamhane, his father and the Board of Commissioners from the meeting.

Tamhane completed his badges by attending merit badge clinics over weekends and meeting with merit badge counselors from his troop. After completing all merit badges, Tamhane said he gained a sense of personal finance, learned how to cook, went fly-fishing, water and snow skiing, and much more as he experienced new things and met new people.

He is a member of Troop 27 in the Atlanta Area Council, Northern Ridge District, of the Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2019.
