Deputies arrest Atlanta man following a second high-speed chase

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – A 28-year-old Atlanta man chose to return to the scene of the crime Tuesday (Feb. 23) and now will have to pay the price.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop Jeremy Deshun Morris 24 hours earlier, but he lead them on a high-speed chase into another jurisdiction before supervisors,  following their practice, called off the chase.

But, according to a post on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, they knew who the driver was.

“The following night, Morris made the unwise decision to return to the scene of the crime. This time, FCSO was waiting, and we brought our friends with us. Another great job by our FCSO Deputies, including South Precinct, Crime Reduction Unit, Traffic Unit, and K-9 unit.”

Morris again lead deputies on a high speed chase — reaching a speed of up to 100 mph — but this time, he didn’t get away. No one was injured and Morris was arrested and charged with fleeing/attempting to elude, failure to maintain insurance, expired registration, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license and reckless driving.
