FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Three-term Georgia State Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black addressed a large crowd of conservatives Monday evening at the Forsyth County Tea Party meeting at the VFW facility.
Black, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, said, “Folks were in a dilemma. I’m going to offer you a solution. I’m asking you to hire me to serve Georgia.”
He spent 40 years in the farm business as a cattleman, 21 years as president of the Georgia Agribusiness Council and three terms as the state’s Commissioner of Agriculture.
Under his leadership, Georgia Department of Agriculture divisions for information technology, animal health, homeland security, and food safety have garnered national acclaim.
A second part of the solution called for replacing Georgia’s Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock. “We must replace Raphael Warnock,” he said to loud applause.
He spoke about President Joe Biden’s agenda to “fundamentally change America.”
“We’ve got global laughter, inflation running up the wazoo, embarrassment at every level and a 5 trillion dollar spending package,” he said. This dilemma is weighing on all of us.” He said America is on the edge of “adding stars to our flag, justices to the supreme court and ending the filibuster.”
He said Georgians had their own agenda but can’t get it passed until Republicans can retake the U.S. Senate.
“We’d love to see the border sealed,” he said. “I want our country protected. I want a fearless approach to national defense. I want a culture of life in America. Life begins at conception for me period.”
He also talked about his experience working within the federal government and how President Donald Trump appointed him to serve on his agriculture commission advisory panel.
“During Hurricane Michael, I worked with President Trump and Congress to bring historic relief to our producers. It took 13 months to get the money into Georgia’s hands but through the program we crafted we were able to get $171 million to help relieve Georgia’s farmers.
“We must retake our country. We must stand on our values. We can get back to having a Georgia Senator who stands for our values. It starts right here in Forsyth County tonight.”
Gary Black welcomes Hershel Walker to Senate Race

ELLIJAY, Ga – Gary Black, candidate for United States Senate, welcomes UGA legend and Heisman Trophy winner Hershel Walker to the race and to the state.
Walker officially entered the race on Tuesday, August 24, and Black presented Walker with a list of campaign stops to openly debate their ideas for the future of the country.
Black, who serves as Georgia’s Agriculture Commissioner, believes Georgians will ultimately vote for the candidate most equipped to handle the job.
“It’s also about being able to provide leadership. I think that’s a critical element. This is not a run for celebrity. It’s a run for Senate and that’s why I’m in it. I believe we got the skills, record, background, and commitment to conservative values,” Black commented.
Black and Walker have strong ties to former President Donald Trump (R). For months, Trump encouraged Walker to enter the U.S. Senate race, but he hasn’t endorsed anyone in the Senate race yet.

The former President and Black worked closely together on hurricane Michael relief for farmers in southwest Georgia. Black brought 15 farmers to Trump to discuss their needs following the hurricane. He commended Trump’s commitment to bringing aid to those farmers.
Additionally, Black formed a coalition for Trump in 2016 even before the Republican Convention.
“I think the President [Trump] is going to be very pleased when we win,” Black added.
Leadership in Congress
The Agricultural Commissioner commented on the necessity of strong leadership in the United States Senate.
“Should we express the views of Georgia? Absolutely. Sometimes does that mean bucking the system? Absolutely. Is there ever a perfect piece of legislation? That’s not true either,” Black stated. “Having a dose of spinal fluid is exactly what you need in your next United States Senator.”
He confirmed he would have voted no on the $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill.
“Businesses should be competing. Businesses should have oversight. How is it businesses are still competing with the federal government for employees?” Black commented. “We’re destroying the work ethic of this country.”
The Black campaign will soon release details on ideas for backing the blue, refunding the police, and addressing the increase in crime. 75 sheriffs in Georgia have endorsed him.
Moreover, Black viewed the situation in Afghanistan as an “abomination” and a national “embarrassment.”
He called for the firing of the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley or resign if the Biden Administration won’t listen to his advice.
“Unveiling this right before our children saying, ‘This is the way this generation stands up.’ There’s nothing great about that,” Black said. “Not a single word from Senator Warnock as this was unfolding is shameful.”
Warnock did comment at an Atlanta Press Club event that endless wars haven’t served the country well, and the focus should be on getting Americans and allies out of the country.
Kelvin King speaks to why he’s running for U.S. Senate

ELLIJAY, Ga – Businessman and self-starter Kelvin King took issue with those who called his candidacy for U.S. Senate a Republican strategy.
“I’m not a strategy. I’ve been a Republican for a long time, and I saw an opportunity. I saw a need in our Party to win back this sear and I think I can do it.” King remarked, “I’m not a tool of the Republican Party. No one in the Republican Party said ‘Hey Kelvin, I think you can win because your Black. I think that’s offensive. ”
He does believe he’s the best chance for Republican voters to take back a Senate seat in 2022. Senator Raphael Warnock (D) is up for reelection after winning the January runoff against Kelly Loeffler. Traditionally, Senators serve six years, but the race was for the remaining time in retired Senator Johnny Isakson’s term.
King considers himself a statesman who’s ready to represent Georgia in Washington D.C. if given the opportunity.
King’s a Georgia native who was born in Macon and grew up in Cobb County. He received an appointment to the Air Force Academy and served in the Air Force. Upon returning to Georgia, he began his own construction company out of his home, and now it’s a multimillion-dollar company.
He admitted he didn’t follow politics growing up but tended to vote Democrat until college when he began reading a lot of black history books and other materials. His first Republican vote was for George Bush. Self determination and less government are two ideas that King strongly believes in.
“As long as we have freedom and liberty that means we have the opportunity to succeed or fail on our own,” he stated.
As for cancel culture, King commented that it ultimately hurts innocent bystanders – those not directly involved. He cited MLB’s decision to move the All-Star Game from Cobb County. It resulted in millions lost for local businesses. King added that companies and media need to gather more accurate information before making final decisions. Cancel culture doesn’t unite America; it divides the country on a personal level.

Kelvin King was born in Macon, GA and raised in Mableton, GA. His mom, Janet, was a teenager when she had Kelvin. His mother, at a young age, had the courage to leave an abusive marriage, becoming a single mother to two children, Kelvin and his younger sister Tameisha. Kelvin spent most of his childhood in a single parent home and they oftentimes struggled to make ends meet. Though he became the man of the family early, his mother and grandmother worked hard to instill in him the values needed to grow into a successful young adult. It was these values he credits with earning him an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy where he was an All-Conference football player.
Kelvin graduated from the Academy and served 5 years in the Air Force as a Contracting Officer. He made the rank of Captain before deciding to leave the military and transition to corporate America. Upon completion of his service, he returned to Georgia to begin building his life as a civilian. He worked in procurement, business development and eventually became the General Manager of an international construction firm where he achieved numerous honors including being named to the Top 20 Under 40 in ENR Magazine and Manager of the Year in his company. After several years in this role, he decided to save enough money to start his own construction firm, Osprey Management. Kelvin’s firm has twice been named the fastest-growing business by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Kelvin is married to Janelle who serves as a panelist and commentator on Fox 5 Atlanta’s “The Georgia Gang.” The two of them have been entrenched in Georgia politics as leading conservative activists and are passionate about spreading the Republican message throughout the minority community. They founded “Speak Georgia”, a 501c3 organization designed to educate and provide resources to the community directly from subject matter experts.
