Matt Community Park adds tennis courts, pavilion

News, Press Release

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Six lighted tennis courts, a pavilion and restroom facilities have been added to Matt Community Park (6555 Wallace Tatum Road) in northwest Forsyth County. The new facilities are located next to the existing playground.

“I am excited to continue adding new facilities to Matt Community Park,” said Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Director Jim Pryor. “The tennis courts will provide an opportunity to expand our tennis programs to another area of the county and the courts will be the new home to North Forsyth High School for their games.”

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 29 in celebration of these new amenities.

The design company for the new amenities was Breedlove & Associates and the funding was provided by SPLOST VII (B). Other amenities at the park include four synthetic-turf rectangular fields, a playground, two pavilions, restrooms and a multi-use trail. Matt Community Park opened in Aug. 2016.
