Forsyth County Board of Commissioners to accept more than $290,000 in grants today

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The acceptance of grants totaling more than $290,000 and the awarding of contracts for various county services will dominate the agenda when the Board of Commissioners meets in a work session today (June 7) at 2 pm in the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street in Cumming.
The Board will consider:
- The acceptance of CACJ Grant awards for Accountability Courts: Drug Court $232,050.00 with a county match of $31,643.00; DUI Court $100,064.00 with County match of $13,645.00; and, CARE Program $123,598.00 with County match of $16,854.00;
- Approval of the Legacy Link FY 2022 Grant Addendum 1. Said Addendum increases funds by $150,041.00 in the categories of Nutrition Site Operation; Home Delivered Meals; and, Cares Act Material Aid and has a cash match increase of $1,873.00;
- Approval of the Legacy Link FY 2022 Grant Addendum 2. Said Addendum increases funds by $1,926.00 for the Home Delivered Meals Program and has a cash match increase of $387.00; award total is $593,393.00.;
- Approval of the Legacy Link FY 2023 Annual Contract to be effective on July 1, 2022. Said Contract provides $453,043.00 in the categories of Nutrition Site Operations; Congregate Meals; Home Delivered Meals; Respite/Memory Support Care; and, Wellness Services and has cash match increase of $112,190.00;
- Authorization for the Department of Senior Services to apply to join the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Aging and Independence Services Division;
- Approval of an Integrated Supply Agreement between Genuine Parts Company (d/b/a NAPA Auto Parts) and Forsyth County authorizing the Department of Fleet Services to be an in-house auto parts provider with authorization for the Chairman to execute documents in furtherance of the same;
- (7) Approval to award Bid 22-44-5211 for the Chattahoochee Pointe Lower Boardwalk Construction for the Department of Parks and Recreationn t0 Steele & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $371,800.00 with authorization for the County Manager to execute documents in furtherance of same;
- Approval to award Bid 22-048-5211 to Surface Masters, Inc. for Resurfacing and Restriping at Midway Park in the amount of $68,835;
- Approval to award bid for Manhole Riser Assemblies Delta Municipal Supply in the amount of $89,434. to adjust sewer manholes to grade for the 2022 County Road Resurfacing Projects;
- Approval of the purchase of 7,577 stream mitigation credits in the amount of $1,250,205.00 to Three Creeks Mitigation Bank, LLC for the McGinnis Ferry Widening Project, PEW08 (widening portion only);
- Possible direction regarding a Board generated rezoning for ZA3952, Yousef Emtairah. In accordance with UDC 8-5.5(I), if an application for a Land Disturbance Permit has not been submitted within 18 months of zoning approval, the Board may consider rezoning to a constitutional zoning designation;
- Possible direction regarding the draft 2021 Impact Fee Annual Update with authorization to advertise for a Public Hearing to occur on July 7, 2022
Board of Commissioners work session set for Tuesday

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Board of Commissioners will consider awarding RFP 21-165-2410 for the purchase of three (3) replacement Brush Trucks at $285,443.00 each to Ten-8 Fire and Safety Equipment in the amount of $856,329when the Board of Commissioners meets in a work session Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street in Cumming.
The Board will also consider:
- Approval of an Avita Community Partners Subaward Agreement between Forsyth County and Georgia Mountains Community Services, d/b/a Avita Community Partners;
- Approval to declare a list of items as surplus with authorization for the Department of Procurement to dispose of accordingly;
- Approval of Amendment #2 to the Master Services Agreement with Healthstat, Inc. to provide a 3% price increase as outlined in the Master Services Agreement;
- Approval to enter into an Agreement with ESi Acquisition, Inc. to upgrade the hosting services for WebEOC Crisis Information Management Software in the amount of $13,940;
- Approval of Amendment 2 to Task Order 2 with ESG Engineering in the amount of $123,058 for providing Engineering and Construction Oversight Services for the Ozone System Replacement Project at the Antioch Water Treatment Plant;
- Approval of a Construction Work Order for Western Summit Constructors Inc. in the amount of $442,488 under the Water and Sewer Indefinite Quantity Mechanical Contractor Program for providing Phase 3 Construction Services to complete the Ozone System Replacement Project at the Antioch Water Treatment Plant;
- Approval of a Contract Item Agreement between the Georgia Department of Transportation and Forsyth County regarding reimbursement of $4,628,090.00 for Waterline and Sanitary Sewer Relocation on State Route 9 from McFarland Road to Post Road due to road widening;
- Approval to renew the Joint Funding Agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, in the amount of $49,750.00 for 2022 Stream Flow Monitoring of Dick Creek at Old Atlanta Road, Big Creek at Hwy 9, and the Chattahoochee River upstream and downstream of McGinnis Ferry Road;
- Approval of an Agreement between Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) and Forsyth County in the not to exceed amount of $3,000 for providing a relocation estimate to potentially relocate existing power transmission line poles on the new County Campus site on Freedom Parkway;
- Approval to award RFP 22-010-1620 for Project Management Roadway Connectivity and Pedestrian Services and to provide all labor, materials, and equipment on an as-needed basis for roadway connectivity and pedestrian services to Atlas Technical Consultants, LLC and Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.;
- Approval to award RFP 22-11-1620 for Roadway Connectivity Pedestrian Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Services and to provide all labor, materials, and equipment on an as-needed basis for roadway connectivity and pedestrian CEI services to Heath & Lineback Engineers. Inc. and Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.;
- Direction regarding a County-Initiated rezoning from Agricultural District (A1) to Restricted Industrial District (M1) for industrial buildings totaling approximately 383,281 sq. ft., Parcels 236-029 and 236-093;
- Approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Lumpkin County Water and Sewerage Authority and Forsyth County;
- Accepting two lots in the Pebblebrook subdivision for County ownership;
- A discussion of Tattoo parlor/store permitting options;
- A Sewer Easement running through a small portion of the Tax Parcel# C19-002, located at 608 Veterans Memorial Blvd, which the said easement is being granted by the County to the City of Cumming, for the temporary construction and permanent use and maintenance of a new sewer manhole to be located at the boundary line of the said property as more particularly described in Exhibit A of the proposed sewer easement document;
- Approval of an amended “provisional certificate of occupancy” agreement, extending the duration of the provisional CO with Andrew Gauthier, Heather Gauthier, and Mary Lynn Reynolds, regarding improvements located at 5015 Heardmont Trace Road;
- Approval of a Proclamation declaring the month of April as Sarcoidosis Awareness Month in Forsyth County;
- An Agreement for Exchange of Realty with Thomas R. Wojtczak, as Trustee of the Thomas R. Wojtczak Revocable Trust dated January 24, 2012, regarding the exchange of 0.328 acre of County property (from Parcel 125-116) for 0.246 acre of Wojtczak property (Parcel 125-110) at or near 1 Cunningham Point, Cumming, Georgia.
Planning Commission meeting scheduled Tuesday

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – The Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting and public hearings Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street in Cumming.
Public hearings to be held include:
- UDC modifications related to administrative variances for light pole height;
- UDC modifications related to separation distances between car wash businesses;
- UDC modifications related to vehicle sales and repair;
- UDC modifications related to exterior color changes within the Coal Mountain Overlay;
- UDC modifications related to backyard chickens;
- UDC modifications related to Master Planned Districts;
Public hearings regarding Conditional Use Permits include:
- Winston’s Removal & Landscaping request to build a 2,600 sq. ft. contractor’s establishment with 5 parking spaces associated with a 520 sq. ft. existing building and operate an open storage yard on 1.932 acres currently zoned Commercial Business District (CBD).This property is located at 5435 Mashburn Drive, Cumming, GA 30041;
- TRP, L.L.C. – CP200025 request to operate an open storage yard with 23 parking spaces on 2.322 acres associated with mini-warehouses in existing buildings totaling 12,535 sq. ft. with 3 parking spaces currently zoned Commercial Business District (CBD) with variances.
