NFHS student arrested for making threats

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – On October 3, 2023, threatening messages were found on a wall within a bathroom at North Forsyth High School.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office along with Forsyth County School Safety and North Forsyth High School Administrators immediately began investigating the incident.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office takes threats of this nature very serious and investigate them thoroughly.

Additional deputies were assigned to North Forsyth High School while the investigation was being completed. Early in the investigation it was determined these threats had no planning or intent to harm anyone at the school, however, the messages did disrupt the school campus causing students to feel uneasy.

After hours of watching video surveillance and interviewing numerous students, the 16-year-old suspect was identified.

While interviewing the suspect, it was determined there was no plan or intent to cause harm to the students or staff at the school.

The student indicated the motive for the threat was to simply shut down the school.

The student has been charged with Felony Terroristic Threats, Disruption of Public School and Trespass.

He will be transported to a Regional Youth Detention Center in Gainesville.
