Forsyth County will apply for $19.1 million grant for drinking water projects

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Board of Commissioners agreed to apply for the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund in the not-to-exceed amount of $19,100,000 during Tuesday’s work session. The County will provide a match in the not-to-exceed amount of $3,820,000.

The funding is made available through a Grant provided by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget for Drinking Water Projects to Support Increased Population.

The Board also approved

  • The addition of a Health and Wellness Coordinator position Grade 15 for the remainder of 2022 at a cost not to exceed $30,000, including salary, benefits and non-capitol items;
  • A resolution to allow the Sheriff’s Office to apply for the Atlanta Hawks Foundation Grant in the amount of $2,380 with no County match;
  • The award of bid 22-78-3150 to provide all materials,
    equipment, and labor for the Structural Steel Painting for Majors Bridge over Big
    Creek and Burnt Bridge over Settingdown Creek to S & D Industrial Painting, Inc. in the amount of $196,400;
  • Approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Forsyth County to include water and sewer infrastructure relocations within the contract of the roadway improvements planned for the GA 400 Express Lanes (GDOT Project No. 0001757);
  • Approval of a Sewer Reservation Agreement with Marloy, Inc. for 675 gallons per day (gpd) of Sewer Capacity with authorization for the Department of Water and Sewer to purchase said Capacity from the City of Cumming;
  • The award of RFP 21-114-3340 for the Fowler Water Reclamation Facility Phase II Expansion for the Department of Water and Sewer in the amount of $18,873,000;
  • Approval of Task Order 22-03 with ESG Engineering, Inc. regarding Construction Management Services for the Fowler Water Reclamation Facility 7.5 MGD Expansion Project in the not to exceed amount of $1,175,590;
  • Approval of Change Order 1 to PO20210926 with NOVA Engineering and Environmental LLC in the amount of $24,648.75 for additional Testing and Inspection Services for Lanierland Park Phase 2;
  • Approval of Change Order 2 to PO20192666 with Lose Design in the amount of $23,750 for design changes made to the Sharon Springsn Park Tag Office and to combine the Park and Tag Office Bid Documents into one solicitation;
  • Approval of Supplemental Agreement No. 2 to the original Project Framework Agreement by and between Forsyth County and the Georgia Department of Transportation regarding the SR 400 @ McGinnis Ferry Rd;
  • Approval of Task Order No. 2 to the Project Management Roadway Connectivity and Pedestrian Services As-Needed Services Agreement with Atlas Technical
    Consultants, LLC in the amount of $77,200.00 to perform a Constructability Review
    for the Post Road Widening Project from SR 9 to Kelly Mill Road;
  • Approval of Task Order No. 4 to the Old Atlanta Road Widening Phases 4 & 5 Roadway and Connectivity/Pedestrian Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Services As-Needed Services Agreement with Heath & Lineback Engineers, Inc. in the amount
    of $3,287,347.25 for Project Support and Construction Engineering Services for 24-
    months;
  • The return of a Board generated rezoning for ZA3952, Yousef Emtairah to the Planning Commission;
  • Amendments to the Unified Development Code related to the MPD requirements to Haw Creek Community Node within Chapter 20B;
  • Modification(s) to the Forsyth County Sign Ordinance and Unified Development Code regarding Electronic Message Boards and Window Signs for certain commercial purposes;
  • Return of a County-Initiated variance to reduce the minimum required paved surface for the display of used vehicles from 1 acre to 0 acres to the Planning Commission for a public hearing;
  • Approval of the Eagle Point Letter of Concurrence with authorization for the Chair to sign – Assistant County Manager;
  • Approval of a Resolution to increase the size of the local DFACS Advisory Board from five to seven members and to appoint two members;
    (20) Board consideration of proposed modifications to the UDC based upon the recent
    changes to the Zoning Procedures Law – County Attorney;
  • Approval of a Fifth Amendment to the Lease Agreement between Forsyth County and New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC pertaining to a lease of Forsyth County property at 3682 Old Atlanta Road, Suwanee, Georgia.
