FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Development Authority of Forsyth County met today (Aug. 18) and voted 4-1 to extend a contract with Pendleton Group to help the County land SoFo Park.
The extension period is for a maximum two months, starting Sept. 1 2022 with a monthly retainer of $2,000.
The Pendleton Group will continue to assist the Development Authority and other senior County officials to acquire SoFo Sports Park (formerly Winners Circle), a mega sports and dining complex developers hope to construct on 62 acres at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Brookwood Road.
Developers say the complex, which will include a 120,000 square feet sports academy, nine baseball or softball fields, two restaurants, a two-story “eatertainment” and facilities to accommodate every sport but auto racing and boxing. It is estimated to attract 750,000 visitors annually provide more than 500 full time jobs.
Members of the Authority also discussed a proposed amendment to the Economic Development Ordinance, but took no action.
