Motorcycle accident claims life of Waleska man

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A Waleska man was killed early this morning when he failed to negotiate a curve on Matt Highway on his 2009 Yamaha FZ 600 and impacted a utility pole.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 39-year-old Dustin Darby. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Due to the final resting positions of the rider and motorcycle, neither were immediately noticeable by drivers passing by.  The estimated time of the crash is sometime between 1:48 a.m. and 3:48 a.m.

Based on travel distance and damage, it was determined Mr. Darby had been operating the motorcycle at an excessive speed prior to the crash.

This marks the second fatal motorcycle accident in Forsyth County this week.

The crash remains under investigation.
