Assistant District Attorney announces campaign for State Court Judge

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Forsyth County Assistant District Attorney James Dunn has announced his candidacy for State Court Judge.

Dunn has served as ADA since 2002 and has prosecuted all levels of cases.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from Mercer University where he graduated in the top 20 percent of his law school class. In addition to managing thousands of cases, he has handled numerous appeals in the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.

He is assigned as the sole prosecutor to the Johns Creek Forsyth Drug and Gang Task Force and helps train law enforcement officers to help them understand the law regarding their duties in a fair and just manner.

Dunn lives in Cumming with his wife and children and is active in the community.  He  is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Forsyth and is currently a board member at Bald Ridge Lodge. He has volunteered in the Forsyth County schools throughout his children’s time there as well as for The Place of Forsyth. He and his family attend the Church of Good Shepherd and are active members.
