Tuesday meeting will address proposed changes to precincts and polling places

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Forsyth County Board of Voter Registrations & Elections (BRE) will seek public input regarding the proposed changes to precinct and polling places and advanced voting hours and changes during a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. in theVoter Registrations & Elections Office at 1201 Sawnee Dr.

Proposed Precinct and Polling Place Changes:

The BRE proposes to change the boundaries of certain voting precincts resulting in the creation of additional precincts and additional Election Day polling places. If approved, these changes will result in 28 election day precincts and polling places in Forsyth County.

Director of Voter Registrations & Elections Mandi Smith said, “Many discussions have taken place since the last election cycle on how to best accommodate our growing voter population throughout the County and one proposed solution is to open additional election day polling places.”

Advance Voting Hours, Days for 2022 Election Cycle:

The BRE will discuss a schedule for Advance Voting for the 2022 election cycle, including the Advance Voting locations, opening dates and voting hours for each location.                                                                                                                 “The Board of Voter Registrations & Elections is tasked with setting the Advance Voting locations, hours and days for each election cycle,” said Smith. “They are interested in the ideas and thoughts from voters regarding Advance voting hours as well as Sunday voting day options for the upcoming election cycle.”

Public Feedback:

The public can submit their input online for both the proposed precinct and polling place changes and Advance Voting days and hours on the Forsyth County website through 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10. Comments can also be addressed with the Elections Office in person or by phone at (770) 781-2118 through noon on Feb. 11. During their regular monthly meeting on Feb. 1 and again at their special called meeting on Feb. 11, the BRE will review all feedback received. There will be an opportunity for public comment on both of these topics during both meetings.
