BOC will set candidate qualifying fees Thursday

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. –  Board of Commissioners will set qualifying fees for candidates for public office when it meets in a regular meeting and public hearings Thursday (Jan. 20) at 5 p.m. in the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street in Cumming. The General Primary Election and non-partisan election date is set for May 24, 2022.

Other public hearings to be held include:

  • The County-Initiated Conditional Use Permit for agritourism on property currently zoned Agricultural District (A1) – Parcels 074-245, 074-149, 074-067, and 097-095 – CP210048;
  • A Sketch Plat for Cheer Investments, Inc. and variances to UDC Table 17.1 and UDC 21-7.5(B)(3) – Parcel 106-766 – SP210010;
  • ZA 4007 regarding Jonathan Gonzalez request to rezone from Agricultural District (A1) and Single Family Residential District (R1) to Commercial Business District (CBD) with a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for an open air business on 2 acres associated with an existing 1,036 sq. ft. building with 8 parking spaces with the following variances to: 1.) Reduce the front setback from 40 ft. to 24 ft. (UDC Table 12.2); 2.) Reduce the front landscape strip from 20 ft. to 10 ft. (UDC 21-6.5(A)(1)); and, 3.) Reduce the required number of parking spaces from 75 to 8 (UDC Table 17.1) – Parcel 017-055;
  • Public input regarding an increase in Forsyth County’s occupation tax receipts for fiscal year 2021, wherein those receipts were higher than the receipts for fiscal year 2020.  O.C.G.A. 48-13-28 requires the County to hold a Public Hearing as part of the County’s process to determine how to use the additional revenue.

Under Old Business the Board will consider modification of conditions on existing zoning application ZA3897 in accordance with UDC Section 8-5.5(I) – Parcel 106-104.

The Board will also hold and Administrative Hearing in reference to a violation(s) of the Massage and Spa Ordinance for FY Health Services, LLC dba Sunset Massage – Named Licensee is Fengxia Yao – MT009634.
