FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – One man is dead following an officer-involved shooting Thursday evening.
Sheriff Ron Freeman issued a brief statement about the shooting during a press conference, which was posted to the agency’s Facebook page.
Deputies were responding to a 911 call when they arrived on the scene at approximately 8p.m. They observed a male armed with a handgun threatening a female. A deputy sheriff discharged his duty weapon, killing the man.
Freeman said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the District Attorney’s office have been notified and is conducting an investigation. The GBI will be releasing any additional information.
