Forsyth County woman dies in camper fire

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A 52-year-old Forsyth County woman died when a pull-behind style trailer caught fire Wednesday (May 26) at 2600 Hammond Drive.
Forsyth County Fire Services Division Chief Jason Shivers said firefighters were dispatched at 7:13 a.m. to a structure fire with entrapment.
Upon arrival of the first unit they were confronted with a nearly fully involved pull-behind style camper. The crew immediately began operations in fast attack/rescue mode. Soon after beginning extinguishment, the body of Ms. Ginny Smith, was located.
She was living in the camper but on a temporary basis. She was the only occupant and only casualty/injury. Investigators were on scene throughout the day yesterday and are continuing their investigation today.
Ms. Smith was transported to the GBI crime lab by the Forsyth County coroner for autopsy and to confirm the cause of death.
