Northside Hospital receives patient care award

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — For a fourth consecutive year, Northside Hospital health care system has been recognized for having among the best hospitals in the nation for patient experience.

Healthgrades, the leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals, has announced the recipients of its 2021 Outstanding Patient Experience Award. Northside Hospital Atlanta, Northside Hospital Cherokee and Northside Hospital Forsyth are among only five Georgia hospitals to make the list. Northside hospitals have consistently been recognized for Outstanding Patient Experience since 2018.

“The events of the past year have caused both consumers and hospitals to refocus on the importance of patient-centered care delivery, and how positive care experiences lead to better health outcomes,” Healthgrades said in its May 11 report. “Every hospital endeavors to provide the best care for their patients, but only an exceptional few stand out in the areas of patient safety and patient experience.”

Healthgrades evaluated nearly 3,300 hospitals across the United States, with 417 hospitals receiving the Outstanding Patient Experience Award, representing the top 15% of hospitals in the nation for patient experience.

Earlier in 2021, Northside hospitals also received multiple Specialty Excellence Awards from Healthgrades for coronary intervention, joint replacement, stroke and other specialties.

The Northside Hospital health care system is one of Georgia’s leading health care providers with five acute-care hospitals in Atlanta, Canton, Cumming, Duluth and Lawrenceville and more than 250 outpatient locations across the state. Northside Hospital leads the U.S. in newborn deliveries and is among the state’s top providers of cancer care, sports medicine, cardiovascular and surgical services.
