FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — During their May 6 meeting, the Board of Commissioners recognized the Finance Department for receiving the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

This award was given to Forsyth County for the County’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended on Dec. 31, 2019.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the County’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
