Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – The Board of Commissioners will hold a regular meeting and public hearings Thursday (Feb. 4) in the County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street at 5 p.m. The meeting will be in-person assembly. Information regarding remote streaming and participation opportunities is available at www.forsythco.com.

Water and Sewer Director Tim Perkins will receive an award on his retirement after 33 years of service. He joined Forsyth County in 1988 as assistant county engineer.

There are seven public hearing on Thursday’s agenda, including:

  • A request for an Amendment of Zoning Conditions on ZA1794 (Peachtree Development Group, Inc.) by Troy and Laura Henderson and a variance to UDC Table at 10135 Brixton Place, Suwanee;
  • Nancy Bentley, ZA3807, CBD & A1 to MPD – District 2 – Director, Department of Planning and Community Development;
  • A request for an Amendment of Zoning Conditions on ZA3282 (D7WBH, LLC) by Concord Commercial Contracting Co. for property located at 655 Fieldcrest Park Lane, Alpharetta;
  • A request for Sketch Plat approval for Ronald Reagan Corners LLC – Parcel 132-029 – SP200009;
  • A request for an Amendment of Zoning Conditions on ZA3344 (Kelley Bridge, LLC) by Sullivan Wickley Development, LLC. Property located at 5350 Jot Em Down Road, Cumming;
  • Addition of residential design standards for single-family attached and multi-family development to the Unified Development Code;
  • A proposed abandonment of 0.376-acre portion of Great Oak Lane a/k/a Pittman Road and associated proposed rezoning of same requested by Brightstar Kids, LLC.

Under Old Business, commissioners will consider:

  • A county-Initiated variance request to eliminate the 5,000 ft. sewer distance requirement to facilitate the use of an on-site septic disposal system;
  • A request by Southern Yankee Capital, LLC – ZA3976 – to rezone from Agricultural District (A1) to Single Family Residential District (RES2) on 4.237 acres for 6 residential lots with a density of 1.42 units per acre. Property is located west of Majors Road approximately 1,050 ft. southeast of the intersection with Kent Place;
  • A request for an Amendment of Zoning Conditions on ZA2679 (Donald H. Burruss) by Ravi Murukuntla – Parcel 155-329 – AZ200040 – District 5 – Director, Department of Planning and Community Development;

 

Under New Business, commissioners will consider:

A request by Ashley Bonner for a Public Hearing regarding an appeal of the Zoning Board of Appeals’ (ZBA) decision to approve a variance on VA200091 (Kevin Grosvenor). The variance was approved on January 5, 2021;

  • A request by James Fike for a Public Hearing regarding an appeal of the Zoning Board of Appeals’ (ZBA) decision to approve a variance on VA200091 (Kevin Grosvenor). The variance was approved on January 5, 2021;
  • Approval to apply for the FY 2021 Mental Health Awareness Training Grant (MHAT), Funding Opportunity Announcement No. SM-21-007, with authorization for the Chairman to sign required Grant documentation. Estimated award amount is up to $125,000 per year for up to 5 years.
