Alfred John becomes District 2 Commissioner

Alfred John was sworn in Tuesday as District 2 County Commissioner.

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — In a ceremony held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the Forsyth County Administration Building, the newest member of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners took his oath of office. Newly elected Forsyth County District 2 Commissioner Alfred John was sworn in during a ceremony by Forsyth County Probate Judge Woody Jordan. District 2 covers much of the southern portion of the county. John fills the post held by Dennis Brown who did not run for re-election.

Laura Semanson was also sworn in on Dec. 29 for her second term as the District 5 commissioner. District 5 encompasses an eastern sweep of the county including the Lake Lanier region. Cindy Jones Mills was sworn in for her third term as District 4 commissioner during a ceremony held on Dec. 31. District 4 covers the northern portion of Forsyth County.

All three terms run through Dec. 31, 2024. The Board of Commissioners is made up of five members, each living in a specific district and elected by their district to serve four-year terms.
