FORSTH COUNTY, Ga. – Hundreds of energized Republicans motivated by maintaining some restraint on what they see as the radical leftist agenda of a future Joe Biden administration elbowed their way into Black Diamond Grill Friday afternoon in support of Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler.
Perdue is battling John Ossoff and Loeffler is facing Raphael Warnock in a Jan. 5 runoff election that will determine which party will control the U.S. Senate. The Republicans must win at least one of the runoffs to maintain a 51-49 majority.
Loeffler took the torch and fanned the flames, first thanking Congressman Doug Collins (R-Ga.), who she defeated in the Nov. 3 primary, for his endorsement then excoriating her Democrat opposition. ,
“I’m going to tell you exactly who my opponent is,” she said. “He has supported Marxist ideas. He embraces communists. He welcomed Fidel Castro, the communist dictator who kills people into his church. He believes Jeremiah Wright should be celebrated as a prophet.” Wright is the preacher who once declared “God damn America” to his congregation which included President Barrack Obama.
Perdue then reminded the crowd how Sen Chuck Shumer recently said, “First we’re going to take Georgia then we’re going to change America.”
“If you haven’t listened to Chuck Schumer, Chuck said he wants the majority,” he said. “They’ve got 48 votes now. They have to have her seat and my seat to get those votes, then with the vice president, they’ll get the tie-breaker. We’re not going to let that happen, are we?”
The rally came one day after 300 people attended the Forsyth County Republican Party meeting pledging to work to support both Loeffler and Perdue and two days after Florida Sen. Marco Rubio spoke in Cobb County in support of both Perdue and Loeffler.
It also came on the heels of an announcement that the National Republican Senatorial Committee has combined with their campaigns to raise $32 million.
Voter registration deadline is Dec. 7.
