Woman who overdosed on heroin leads police to supplier, six suspected drug dealers arrested

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – A woman who nearly died of a heroin overdose in August led investigators with the Johns Creek-Alpharetta-Forsyth County Drug Task Force to her supplier, resulting in the arrest of six suspected drug dealers and the confiscation of a significant amount of drugs.
The investigation led to the home of Christopher Cory Bennett. Bennett was observed leaving his home and was stopped for traffic violations. A K9 was deployed which alerted during a free air sniff. Upon search of the vehicle, Fentanyl, THC wax, and Marijuana packaged for sale were located. Bennett was also found to have Heroin in his wallet.
Bennett, age 30, was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Schedule I (THC wax), and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
A search warrant was obtained for Bennett’s residence. When the search of the home was complete, 80+ grams of Meth, THC wax, Marijuana, a 9mm handgun, and other drug-related objects had been located.
The search warrant resulted in the following arrests and charges:
- Lesley Scroggin, 42-years-old, charged with Trafficking Meth, Possession of Drug Related Objects, and $730 dollars was seized
- Lillie Johnson, 23-years-old, charged with Trafficking Meth, Possession of Schedule I (THC Wax), Possession of Drug Related Objects, Possession of Marijuana, Parole Warrant
- Maximillian Peterson, 33-years-old, charged with Trafficking Meth, Possession of Drug Related Objects
- Christopher Elmore, 32-years-old, charged with Possession of Schedule I (THC Wax), Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Related Objects
- Kenneth Lynch, 53-years-old, charged with Possession of Meth, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
Christopher Bennet also received an additional charge of Possession of Meth stemming from the search warrant.
Through further investigation, it was learned that a quarter pound of Meth was purchased and delivered to the residence on the night of the search warrant. Some of the Meth was already sold before serving the search warrant. Chris Elmore sold the Meth, and he received an additional charge of Trafficking Meth.
