Rickert to head Forsyth County Transportation

Roy Rickert joined Forsyth County government on July 6 as the director of Public Transportation. In this role, Rickert will direct the operational and managerial activities of the Public Transportation Department and guide the future of the County’s transit system.

Rickert brings 18 years of public transportation experience and leadership. His background includes design and implementation of both demand response and fixed route services, operations and advocacy. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of Bis-Man Transit in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Rickert holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University. He is a graduate of the American Public Transportation Association’s Leadership APTA program and is active in various industry associations.
