Tressler explains absence at Town Hall due to a concussion she suffered in fall at home

News

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A note received during last night’s Run-Off Town Hall at the Forsyth Conference Center from former County Commissioner Patrick Bell explains Julie Tressler’s injury and the reason for her absence:

“Julie would like to convey her disappointment in not being able to participate in tonight’s Forsyth Young Republican and Forsyth County GOP forum. (Tuesday) night Julie had an accident at home and hit her head. She fell “saw stars” and/or briefly blacked out. She waited a while and determined she was ok. (Wednesday) morning Julie had an unusually severe headache, was nauseous, and had trouble focusing. We went to the emergency room where it was determined she had suffered a concussion. ACAT scan showed no issues. She was sent home with instructions to rest and her symptoms should clear up in a few days. If you know Julie, she is not entirely happy with having to stay home and wants to be with her supporters and all Forsyth and Hall conservatives as the run-off is nearing the finish line. She thanks you for your prayers and assures you she is ready, willing and able to serve District 28.”

Perdue, Loeffler win in Forsyth County

News

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. –Republicans in Forsyth County gave incumbent Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler their overwheming endorsement in the U.S. Senate runoff election Tuesday.

Perdue received 75,734 votes to Democrat Jon Ossoff’s 33,764. Loeffler defeated Rev. Raphael Warnock 34,456. Republican Party Chairman Patrick Bell said he was pleased with the Republican’s effort to get out the vote in his county.

“We had people all day today trying to get people to the polls.” Bell added, however, he was concerned with the statewide vote.

But the effort may not be enough. When Forsyth County’s votes were reported at about 11:30 p.m. Warnock had just taken a 26,000 vote lead over Loeffler and Perdue saw his lead drop from about 118,000 votes to just 3,000 after 130,000 votes were reported from heavily Democrat DeKalb County.

More than 5,000 registered voters in Forsyth County have filed for change address

News

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – The Board of Voter Registrations and Elections voted 3-2 today to uphold a challenge by State Representative Marc Morris (R-Cumming) that states that 5,128 people registered to vote in the Jan. 5 General Election Runoff and Special Election Runoff have filed for a change of address, indicating they may have changed their residence.

The Board is comprised of two Republican and two Democrat appointees with Barbara Luth serving as the Chief Registrar and Chairman. The vote was split along Party lines with Chairwoman Luth casting the deciding vote.

Forsyth County Republican Party Chairman Patrick Bell explained that Morris and others ran the voter rolls through the National Change of Address database found 5,128 people who submitted a change of address card, indicating they may not be living in Forsyth County.

“They then researched 100 names in Florida and North Carolina and found that 73 had either registered to vote or bought property. “We’re not saying those people have done anything fraudulent. We don’t know if they have tried to vote yet. If they do vote, they are now flagged and they will have to verify to the Board of Elections that they are indeed a resident of Forsyth County.

“Even though many Democrats alleged this is a partisan effort, it is my contention that there is nothing more important than doing everything possible to ensure every ballot cast is valid and legitimate,” Bell said. “It is important to note that these people were not purged from the list but rather will simply have to prove they live in Forsyth County should they vote. At the end of the day, there is nothing more sacred to our Republic than the process by which leaders are selected and every citizen, regardless of party affiliation, should demand the process be secure, protected and the results are legitimate.

“We need to send a message that election fraud is not going to be accepted or ignored in Forsyth,” he continued. Bell added that he would do everything in his power to make sure that anyone that has fraudulently voted in Forsyth County would be investigated for felony election fraud and appropriately charged if they have done so.”

Preliminary results of Forsyth County audit finds little has changed in election night results

News

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — County election officials and volunteers — under the watchful eye of an army of Republican and Democratic Party monitors and the media — completed a required audit of the Nov. 3 presidential election Monday, two days prior to a state-imposed deadline, with little or no change in election night results

Election Director Mandi Smith said, “From what I’ve seen there were no discrepancies. We’re still working on paperwork and finalizing things now.”

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger gave Georgia county elections offices until Wednesday (Nov. 18) at 11:59 p.m. to complete the statewide hand recount of 5,000,000 votes. The initial results had former Vice President Joe Biden winning the state by 14,000 votes over President Donald Trump.

In one of the reddest of red counties, 79.24 percent of Forsyth County’s 163,984 registered voters cast ballots in the presidential election. President Donald Trump outpolled Joe Biden 85,122 to 42,203.

Carolyn Hall Fisher, 1st Vice President of the Georgia Republican Party praised the Forsyth County audit. “Forsyth County should be training all 158 other counties,” she said. “It is the most well-oiled machine I have ever seen. They are amazing.”

Forsyth County Republican Party Chairman Patrick Bell said he was unaware of any major corrections. “We didn’t have any Floyd County problems,” he said. Raffensperger’s office confirmed Monday the audit discovered the Floyd County elections office failed to count 2,600 votes on election night.

This is war! 300 Forsyth County conservatives gear up to fight for Loeffler and Perdue Senate Seats

News

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – The tiny Republican Party Headquarters was bursting at the seams Thursday evening until Party Chairman Patrick Bell abandoned the effort to squeeze 300 raucous Republicans into a room designed for maybe 75 and moved the meeting to the Lake Center parking lot.

They came out to voice their support and pledge they will spare no effort to elect Republican Senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in the Jan. 5 runoff election. If Perdue and Loeffler win, the U.S. Senate will maintain control of the Senate.

For Republicans, it is a choice between defending America’s democracy and descending into socialism. It is that simple, they say. and it is a war.

Public Service Commissioner told the crowd, “What is important tonight is that Georgia, Georgia, Georgia will determine the outcome of this election.”

Carter Patterson, a co-chair of the David Perdue campaign said, “The nation has its eyes on us tonight. He encouraged Republicans who have friends living outside the state to contact them and have them call other friends who live in Georgia to get them to vote.

But the harshest rhetoric came from Carolyn Hall Fisher, First Vice Chair of the Georgia GOP, who excoriated the leftist agenda. “This is communism. I don’t care what they tell you. Don’t accept this. They have been wanting to take our freedoms away from us for years. They have wanted to do it and they have done it bit by bit by bit. We will not stand for this anymore. If, after the recount, Joe Biden is declared fair and square President of the United States, we will not unite with communists and socialists. I will not go to my grave having this country as a socialist country.”

BLM protest draws fire from Forsyth County Republicans

News

State Rep. Sheri Gilligan

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Local Republican leaders were quick to condemn the action of the left-wing radical group Black Lives Matter that brought a halt to Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s trip to Forsyth County on her All About America bus tour Thursday.

Before her speech to supporters at the Sawnee Mountain Park Community Center was halted by BLM activists Loeffler blasted protesters.

“You have seen the left move swiftly, radically, violently. You couldn’t imagine it, but this year, 2020, they want to replace American ideals literally with socialism,” she said. “They’re looking to replace not just our freedom and our Constitutional rights but our way of life.”

Moments later she was shouted down by chants of “Black Lives Matter” and “No Justice No Peace.”

Forsyth GOP Chairman Patrick Bell

Forsyth County Republican Party Chairman Patrick Bell said, “So chanting, interrupting and even threatening people is how the left intends on making this a better country. As we have seen several times this week, Republicans in this state are being recognized for real measurable successes for all citizens. Democrats…not so much.”

District 24 State Rep. Sheri Gilligan added, “Republicans had a great opportunity to hear directly from their senator. Unfortunately Democrat activists shouted down any ability to have a free exchange of ideas. Everyone agrees the lives of black people/people of color matter. Americans also agree we have room for improvement. The cancel culture movement harms its own message when their messengers are bullies. Brow beating is not debate. I admire (Loeffler’s) courage under fire and maintaining her composure.”

County Commissioner Molly Cooper

County Commissioner Molly Cooper stated, “The repetitive chant of “Black Lives Matter” continued in response to Senator Kelly Loeffler after she stated emphatically that black lives most certainly do matter and there is no place for racism in our country. It was such a shame that the Black Lives Matter chanters were deaf to what Senator Loeffler passionately emphasized. Regardless of the chants, or the refusal by the Black Lives Matter chanters to engage in discussion, we had a terrific meet and greet and if anyone was ‘on the fence’ about voting for Senator Loeffler, the Black Lives Matter chanters accidentally encouraged them to choose the compassionate, strong, conservative woman that does not back down. Thank you to the Black Lives Matter chanters.”

Former GOP Chairman Ethan Underwood, who campaigned unsuccessfully for 9th District U.S. Congress this year, said, “It’s ironic that freedom of speech is being used to drown out civil discourse.”

Thursday’s protest infuriated Loeffler’s supporters who responded with chants of “All Lives Matter” and “Kelly, Kelly.” While several people confronted the protestors face-to-face, the confrontation did not escalate into violence. About a dozen Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputies were stationed inside and outside the facility but were unable to intervene because the event was held at a public park.

Loeffler was never allowed to resume her speech. Before leaving along with Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton for the next stop on her All About Georgia bus tour (Hall County), Loeffler spoke briefly with reporters outside the community center, stating that she has proposed legislation that would withhold funding from district attorneys who refuse to prosecute crimes that arise from protests.

“It applies to any rioters, looters, arsonists, anything that is unlawful,” she said. “We have to enforce the law. We have district attorneys who are not enforcing the law. We have to make sure they are accountable.”
